UEFA Cup contenders FC Zenit St. Peterburg have made their second signing in as many days, with Viktor Faizulin joining the champions from FC Spartak Nalchik.

UEFA Cup contenders FC Zenit St. Peterburg have made their second signing in as many days, as Viktor Faizulin joined the Russian champions from FC Spartak Nalchik following Roman Shirokov's move on Tuesday.

Contract clause
Zenit exploited a release clause in Faizulin's contract to pay Spartak €475,000 for the midfielder, who has signed a three-year contract. The 21-year-old started his career at FC Okean Nakhodka in the far east of Russia before moving westwards to second division side FC SKA Khabarovsk. In 2007, Faizulin switched to Spartak and quickly became their key playmaker, scoring three goals in 28 league appearances. He also made his Russia Under-21 debut this season becoming an important member of the squad. Zenit continue their UEFA Cup group stage campaign on Thursday at home against 1. FC Nürnberg, having picked up four points from their opening two games in Group A.
