Mladá Boleslav eye a last 32 place

Having earned their biggest away win in UEFA club competition on Matchday 3, FK Mladá Boleslav can earn a last 32 place with a home win against AEK Athens FC.

Having earned their biggest away win in UEFA club competition on Matchday 3, FK Mladá Boleslav can earn a place in the last 32 with a home win against AEK Athens FC.

• Having lost their opener 2-1 at home against Villarreal CF, Zdenĕk Ščasný's side earned their biggest ever away win in European competition on Matchday 3, coming from behind to triumph 3-1 at IF Elfsborg.

• That margin of victory also matched their previous best wins in UEFA competition at home.

• Appearing in only their second season in European competition, the Czech side will qualify for the last 32 if they beat AEK, regardless of the result of their Matchday 5 trip to ACF Fiorentina.

• Having drawn at Elfsborg on Matchday 1 and at home against Fiorentina on Matchday 3, Lorenzo Serra Ferrer's AEK find themselves fourth in Group C.

• Defeat at Mladá Boleslav would be a serious blow for AEK but would not necessarily mark the end of their UEFA Cup hopes.

• Mladá Boleslav coach Ščasný may feel he has unfinished business with AEK. His Panathinaikos FC side were knocked out of the last 16 of the 2004/05 Greek Cup by AEK in one of his last games in charge of the club.

• Ščasný moved to Greece in 2002 following spells as coach at AC Sparta Praha and FK Viktoria Žižkov, taking over at OFI Crete FC. He subsequently worked as a scout for Panathinaikos before taking over as head coach in October 2004.

• His short spell in charge saw his side go unbeaten through four UEFA Champions League games, including back-to-back draws against Arsenal FC, before he was dismissed in February 2005.

• Mladá Boleslav and AEK have never met in UEFA club competition.

• Mladá Boleslav took on AEK's capital rivals Panathinaikos FC in last season's UEFA Cup group stage, losing 1-0 to a Dimitrios Salpingidis goal. That was their only previous meeting with a Greek side.

• AEK have never played against a Czech side in UEFA club competition.

• Mladá Boleslav have not won in their last four European home games, and have never won a home game in their two UEFA Cup group stage appearances, drawing one and losing two.

• AEK have not won in their last seven European away fixtures.

• Villarreal are at home against Elfsborg in Wednesday's other Group C game.
