Hamburger SV have signed Belarussian midfielder Anton Putsilo from FC Dinamo Minsk on an initial year-long loan.

Catching the eye
The Bundesliga club have given a chance to the 20-year-old after he impressed the HSV coaching staff while on trial in December and then during a winter training camp in Dubai. Sporting director Dietmar Beiersdorfer said: "We are happy to have concluded the deal, and Anton will be with us for the year at least."

Ineligible
Hamburg will have the option of acquiring Putsilo on a permanent basis for an agreed fee. However, the veteran of 48 Belarussian top-flight matches will be ineligible for Hamburg's spring campaign in the UEFA Cup having represented Dinamo Minsk in the qualifying stage. Hamburg will face FC Zürich in the Round of 32 on 14 and 21 February.
