Rangers FC have brought in United States internationals Carlos Bocanegra and Alejandro Bedoya from AS Saint-Étienne and Örebro SK respectively.

Defender Bocanegra arrives from St-Etienne on a three-year contract, as has midfielder Bedoya after Rangers decided to recruit him immediately rather than on a pre-contractual arrangement from January 2012. The pair will link up with US team-mate Maurice Edu in Ally McCoist's squad.

The 32-year-old Bocanegra joins the Scottish champions after a solitary campaign with St-Etienne following longer spells in Europe at Fulham FC and Stade Rennais FC. "I have been in Europe for eight or nine years now and haven't won any silverware so I am hoping to change that," said the centre-half cum left-back, who also captains his country.

Bedoya, 24, moves to Ibrox for an undisclosed fee after making 65 Swedish league appearances for Örebro in the last three seasons. "I have absolutely no doubt he will be a great asset and I'm just so pleased the clubs were able to agree terms," said McCoist.
