Tottenham Hotspur FC have improved their attacking options by completing the signings of Emmanuel Adebayor from Manchester City FC and Iago Falqué from Juventus, both on season-long loans.

The former Togo captain, who passed a medical on Thursday, joins a side who recently sold captain Robbie Keane to LA Galaxy. Adebayor, who scored five goals in 14 Liga appearances during a loan spell at Real Madrid CF last season, finding the net twice against Tottenham in the UEFA Champions League quarter-final, spent three-and-a-half years across north London at Arsenal FC.

The 27-year-old scored 46 Premier League goals in 104 appearances for the Gunners before a €29m move to Manchester City in 2009, but after a promising first season fell down in the pecking order.

Harry Redknapp's side also announced the arrival of attacking midfielder Iago Falqué, 21, on a season-long loan from Juventus. The Spanish Under-21 international – a UEFA European Under-17 Championship winner in 2007 – joined the Bianconeri from FC Barcelona in August 2008 and spent last season on loan at Spanish second division outfit Villareal B, registering 11 goals in 36 games.

Tottenham, who overcame Heart of Midlothian FC 5-0 on aggregate in the play-offs, will learn their UEFA Europa League group stage opponents when the draw is made in Monaco on Friday, at 13.00CET.
