Narsingh happy to lend helping hand

The architect of PSV Eindhoven's comfortable victory over GNK Dinamo Zagreb, Luciano Narsingh, believes it could turn out to be crucial in the race to the round of 32.

PSV Eindhoven bucked an unwelcome recent trend as an assured 2-0 victory over GNK Dinamo Zagreb earned only their second win in six European home games. Luciano Narsingh could take much of the credit after setting up both his side's goals, and he said that laying on chances gives him "a bigger kick" than converting them. Dinamo were magnanimous in defeat, with Ivo Pinto admitting PSV "deserved their victory" while fellow defender and captain Josip Šimunić stressed that the Eredvisie side are a "very, very good team."

Luciano Narsingh, PSV forward
It was a very important victory, and it really improves our chances of remaining in the competition into the new year. It is great to be playing European football. You learn a lot because you play against different opponents. Sometimes they are physically stronger, like Dinamo were this evening.

They were imposing at the back and were constantly looking to counterattack, but on the other hand we kept things tight and deserved our win. I was really pleased that I laid on two goals; that is why I play football. I am a winger and it gives me great pleasure to set up my team-mates. Obviously I enjoy scoring, but to be honest I probably get a bigger kick when I provide an assist.

Ivo Pinto, Dinamo forward
We are sad because we really wanted a victory but we did not play very good football tonight. It is normal that there was a reaction after half-time because we were losing, but they scored a second goal and then the game was over. Maybe it is a coincidence that we have lost so many games on the road.

We are trying to fight against it to stop the rot but it did not work today, so we just have to look forward. PSV are a good side. They had the ball a lot and controlled the game. In the previous match I thought we played better and should have won but tonight they deserved their victory.

Josip Šimunić, Dinamo defender
We are disappointed because two weeks ago we played PSV and put a lot of pressure on them from the beginning. That was our plan today as well but unfortunately we did not manage it and that is why they looked a lot better than us. We were not surprised at how things went, we know they are a very, very good team and they like to play an open style of football.

The better team won and I congratulate them. We have problems playing in Europe because our competition is not the best. I hope in the future it will change, that we will have a more competitive league and therefore will be able to perform better in games like this.
