Tumultuous period
The former Croatia coach's departure comes a week Nenad Gracan resigned as coach in a tumultuous period behind the scenes for the club. Baric turned down the role and has been subjected to a great deal of criticism from the Croatian media following the club's 2-0 defeat by SL Benfica in the UEFA Cup on Thursday.
'Huge pressure'
"I wanted to help the club," he said. "But I can't stand the huge pressure on me so I've decided to leave." Dinamo, who have already appointed a new coach - Ilija Loncarevic, must now find a new director of sport. The side lie in third spot in UEFA Cup Group G, ahead of their crucial next match against Dutch outfit SC Heerenveen in Croatia on Thursday.
