The 26-year-old, capped once by Italy, sustained the injury to his left leg during Saurday's 1-0 win at S.S. Lazio, when he was replaced after 20 minutes by Dario Dainelli. Gamberini will sit out Thursday's visit of IF Elfsborg and the trip to AEK Athens FC on 29 November in addition to a number of Serie A outings for the unbeaten Viola. Fiorentina drew their opening Group C game 1-1 at Villarreal CF.
