Željeznicar shine in Cyprus

Anorthosis Famagusta 1-3 NK Željeznicar (Agg: 1-4) Bosnia-Herzegovnians impress on their travels.

NK Željeznicar defeated Cypriot team Anorthosis Famagusta 3-1 to secure a spot in the first round of the UEFA Cup thanks to a 4-1 aggregate victory.

Early lead
Leading 1-0 from the first leg, the Bosnian-Herzegovnian Cup winners produced an excellent away performance and made the most of virtually all the chances that came their way.

Slotted in
The visitors went ahead in the ninth minute when Almir Gredic slotted in. Goalkeeper Nicos Panagiotoua parried Dzelaludin Muharemovic's low, angled shot but Gredic tucked away the rebound.

Level terms
The home side, however, were soon back on level terms. After good work from former Newcastle United FC player Temur Ketsbaia and Christos Velis, Admir Rašcic deflected a cross into his own net.

Tie secured
But Sanel Jahic ensured parity was short-lived, capitalising on poor defending to make it 2-1 five minutes later. Substitute Emir Hadzic effectively finished the match as a contest with just over 15 minutes to go when he met Muharemovic's cross with a powerful drive.
