Okunowo checks in at Dinamo

FC Dinamo Bucuresti have signed 24-year-old Nigerian international defender Samuel Gbanga Okunowo.

Knee problems
The 24-year-old has previously had spells with FC Barcelona, SL Benfica and Ionikos FC among others. However, a knee injury curtailed his opportunities in Greece and he is now looking for a fresh challenge.

UEFA Cup ambition
"Dinamo were really interested in me and for me it's essential to play," Okunowo said. "Dinamo play at a high level in Romania and, hopefully will remain as long as possible in the UEFA Cup too. I am asking Dinamo's fans to be patient, because I'll do my best and respect my contract until its end."

Liepajas lie in wait
Dinamo begin their UEFA Cup challenge against FHK Liepajas Metalurgs of Latvia in the qualifying round later this month.
