Maccabi too strong for Tallinn

Maccabi Tel-Aviv 2-0 FC Levadia Tallinn(Agg: 4-0) Maccabi stroll on in Sofia.

Maccabi Tel-Aviv 2-0 FC Levadia Tallinn (Maccabi win 4-0 on aggregate)

Venue switched
After a 2-0 victory in the first leg, Maccabi found it hard to break the deadlock in front of their 'home' crowd in Sofia, Bulgaria, the match venue for this qualifying-round tie having been switched due to security concerns in Israel. They had to wait until the 74th minute to find a way through, and even then it was an own goal.

Pasins unfortunate
Latvian defender Aleksejs Pasins was the unfortunate Tallinn player who put through his own net to give Maccabi complete control in the tie. The home side took full advantage of the gift and added a swift second ten minutes later through Andrejs Prohorenkovs to seal their place in tomorrow's first-round draw.
