Levski and Todorov part company

PFC Levski Sofia have accepted the resignation of coach Georgi Todorov, despite an unbeaten start to the season.

Disappointing draw
Todorov handed in his resignation on Sunday night after a disappointing goalless draw at home against PFC Cherno More Varna, which left the side third in the Bulgarian Premier League. "We would like to thank Todorov for his services," said Georgi Markov, Levski's chief director. "The team needs changing as we have not been playing well despite the fact we are still unbeaten in the league and in the UEFA Cup."

Assistants take charge
Todorov's assistants Emil Velev, Anton Slavkov and Antoni Zdravkov will take charge for this weekend's league game against PFC Lokomotiv Plovdiv. The search for a new coach will start next week. Levski lead Israel's Hapoel Ramat-Gan FC 1-0 after the first leg of their UEFA Cup first-round tie.
