AS Roma forward Marco Delvecchio will be out of action for about six weeks after suffering a right thigh injury while training with Italy ahead of the UEFA EURO 2004™ qualifier against Azerbaijan.
Unhappy news
Delvecchio underwent a scan today which confirmed the extent of the injury. The 30-year-old forward, who scored the fourth goal in Roma's 4-0 win in the first leg of the UEFA Cup first-round tie against NK Vardar, will miss the return leg in Skopje on 15 October.
Important games
Delvecchio will also miss several important Serie A games included the derby against S.S. Lazio on 11 November. Roma are currently third in Serie A.
