Barcelona test
Capped once by Denmark, the 25-year-old defender has signed a five-year contract with the Danish league leaders. Sennels will hope to feature in Brøndby's UEFA Cup tie against FC Barcelona, an experience which could push him further up the UEFA EURO 2004™ reckoning.
'Important player'
"It is good that we've got the transfer completed before we go to our training camp in Spain tomorrow," said Brøndby coach Michael Laudrup. "It is also great that we managed to beat the deadline for UEFA Cup matches but the most important thing is that we win the championship - and in that respect Asbjørn Sennels can become a very important player."
'Step upwards'
Sennels, who played over 100 games for Viborg, said: "This is definitely a step upwards in my career. This has happened very quickly but it was not difficult for me to make up my mind. I am looking forward to my future challenges with Brøndby."
