FC Zenit St. Petersburg forward Fatih Tekke has agreed to join FC Rubin Kazan in August, with the Russian champions saying that the Turkish player has signed a three-year contract.
The 32-year-old, who scored nine goals in 25 games for Turkey, is set to move to Rubin in the summer, with a club statement reading: "Fatih Tekke put pen to paper on a three-year contract with Rubin. Tekke's contract is due to start in August 2010 after his current deal with Zenit expires." Having spent the bulk of his career at Trabzonspor, barring spells at Altay GK and Gaziantepspor, Fatih Tekke came to Zenit in 2006, and has so far scored 25 goals in 72 Russian Premier-Liga games, as well as setting up the second goal in their 2007/08 UEFA Cup final success against Rangers FC. He helped Zenit finished third in the Russian league in 2009 as Rubin claimed their second successive title and a place in the 2010/11 UEFA Champions League group stage.
