A torn right thigh has forced Valencia CF right-back Miguel out of the all-Spanish UEFA Europa League quarter-final against Club Atlético de Madrid.
The 30-year-old Portuguese international picked up the injury during Wednesday's 1-0 Liga victory against Málaga CF and is expected to be sidelined for at least three weeks.
Meanwhile, midfielder Jordi Alba has been left out of Valencia's squad for the weekend trip to Real Zaragoza and will continue to undergo tests to determine the extent of a right hip problem.
Valencia host Atlético in the first leg of their quarter-final on Thursday with the return to be played in the Spanish capital a week later.
