Turkish Cup winners Trabzonspor AŞ have signed Polish defender Arkadiusz Głowacki from Wisła Kraków for an undisclosed fee.
"For the first time I will experience playing for a club outside Poland but I don't think I will have a problem adapting," said the 31-year-old, who has signed a two-year contract with an option for a further year.
Głowacki has spent the past ten years at Wisła after starting his career at Lech Poznán. He made 204 league appearances for Wisła, but declared that after a decade with the club it was time for a change.
"I received a good offer from a big club like Trabzonspor who also have a good squad and that helped me make up my mind," said Głowacki, who has been capped 22 times by Poland. "Coach Şenol Güneş's presence was also another major factor. I knew he wanted to work with me in the past but the transfer could only be done this year."
Głowacki is the second new face at Trabzonspor this summer following the arrival of goalkeeper Bora Sevim from Gaziantep Büyükşehir Belediyespor last week. Meanwhile, Trabzonspor midfielder Ömer Aysan Barış has joined Süper Lig side Manisaspor. Trabzonspor beat Fenerbahçe SK 3-1 in the Turkish Cup final to earn a place in the UEFA Europa League play-offs.
