
Brazilian forward Jajá has moved from FC Metalist Kharkiv to fellow UEFA Europa League play-off contenders Trabzonspor AŞ for a fee of €4.2m.
Jajá put pen to paper on a four-year deal with the Turkish outfit, having featured in two Ukrainian Premier League games for Metalist this term. His new club beat Bursaspor 3-0 to claim the Turkish Super Cup on Saturday and Jajá, formerly of Getafe CF, admits that performance helped persuade him to make the move.
"I knew Trabzonspor were a good team and shortly after meeting the club president I signed the contract," said the 24-year-old América FC academy product. "I watched their Super Cup game and they were fantastic. The fans were very energetic and I'll be happy to play in front of such a crowd." Trabzonspor will nonetheless be away from home for the first leg of their UEFA Europa League play-off against Liverpool FC on 19 August, with the return game scheduled for the following Thursday. Metalist will travel to face AC Omonia in the opening leg of their tie.
