UEFA Europa League contenders US Città di Palermo have added to their midfield options by signing Brazilian teenager João Pedro from Clube Atlético Mineiro for an undisclosed fee.

UEFA Europa League contenders US Città di Palermo have announced the capture of midfielder João Pedro from Clube Atlético Mineiro for an undisclosed fee.

The 18-year-old, who made his first-team breakthrough with his old club under former Brazil coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo in 2009, has agreed a five-season contract with the Sicilian outfit. Palermo will kick off their UEFA Europa League Group F campaign away to AC Sparta Praha on 16 September in a section which also includes FC Lausanne-Sport and PFC CSKA Moskva.
