Waterreus to bow out from PSV

PSV Eindhoven goalkeeper Ronald Waterreus will leave the UEFA Cup contenders at the end of the current season.

PSV Eindhoven goalkeeper Ronald Waterreus will leave the Dutch club at the end of the current season, the UEFA Cup contenders have announced.

Long-serving custodian
After ten years with the club, the 33-year-old goalkeeper feels he needs another challenge. Although his contract runs until the end of next season, PSV agreed to Waterreus to leave on a free transfer at the end of the current campaign.

'Great gesture'
"The fact that PSV allows me to leave the club for free is a great gesture from chairman Harry van Raaij," Waterreus said. "In ten years I think I have achieved all that was possible for me. We will have to wait and see what happens next. The only thing that is sure is my decision to quit here."
