VfB Stuttgart will be without Khalid Boulahrouz for their next UEFA Europa League game after the central defender picked up a calf injury in weekend Bundesliga action.
Dutch international Boulahrouz faces three weeks on the sidelines because of the muscle tear sustained during Stuttgart's 3-3 draw at 1. FC Kaiserslautern on Saturday. The 28-year-old will miss the German club's UEFA Europa League match against BSC Young Boys in Switzerland on 1 December, as well as the upcoming domestic league games against 1. FC Köln, Hamburger SV and TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.
Former Hamburg and Chelsea FC player Boulahrouz, who has made four Bundesliga and four UEFA Europa League appearances this season, is expected back for the Group H visit of Odense BK on 16 December. Stuttgart have already qualified from the group having taken a maximum 12 points from four outings.
The Swabian side, now coached by Jens Keller after Christian Gross was dismissed last month, are having a tougher time in the Bundesliga where they sit one point and two places off the relegation zone. On Saturday they lost a three-goal lead in the second half at Kaiserslautern.
