Yuri Semin has been unveiled as FC Dynamo Kyiv coach on a three-year contract.
The former Russia boss left FC Lokomotiv Moskva at the end of last month but joins Dynamo for a second spell having guided the capital club to the league title and UEFA Cup semi-finals in 2008/09. The 63-year-old will be assisted by former Dynamo defender Oleh Luzhny, who had been caretaker coach for three months following the resignation of Valeri Gazzaev.
"I am happy to return to Dynamo," said Semin. "They are a constantly evolving club where I am understood and this is very important for a coach. I am not going to make any drastic changes because I already have a good squad at my disposal, built by my predecessors Valeri Gazzaev and Oleh Luzhny. We have some young talents who are already playing for Ukraine. We have to use that and move on."
Dynamo are 12 points behind FC Shakhtar Donetsk at the winter break but have progressed to the UEFA Europa League round of 32, where they were drawn against Beşiktaş JK.
