FC Porto coach André Villas-Boas said it was "a privilege to receive this kind of trust" after signing a one-year contract extension with the UEFA Europa League contenders.
The 33-year-old, who succeeded Jesualdo Ferreira in the summer, has committed until 2013 having made a big impression since joining from A. Académica de Coimbra. "
We are on a long road and hope to be successful," said Villas-Boas who worked under José Mourinho at Porto, Chelsea FC and FC Internazionale Milano. "I know if we all stay together we will always win."
Porto, unbeaten in 26 games this season in all competitions, have an eight-point advantage over champions SL Benfica in the Portuguese Liga and are through to the UEFA Europa League round of 32. Porto topped Group L with five wins and a draw and face Sevilla FC next with the first leg in Spain on 17 February and the return a week later.
