Maarten Stekelenburg can look back on 2010 with pride. He played his part in taking AFC Ajax into the UEFA Champions League group stage, picked up a Dutch Cup winners' medal, and was a key figure as the Netherlands advanced to the FIFA World Cup final.
As the Eredivisie starts up again this week, the big matches are once again coming thick and fast for Ajax who face rivals Feyernoord on Wednesday, before turning their attention towards a tantalising UEFA Europa League tie against Belgian league leaders RSC Anderlecht. Here the 28-year-old goalkeeper says he had learned the lessons from Ajax's UEFA Champions League campaign and looks ahead to the UEFA Europa League.
