UEFA Europa League aspirants FC Spartak Moskva have completed their second signing of the winter transfer window by adding FC Saturn Moskovskaya Oblast midfielder Emin Makhmudov to their ranks.

The 18-year-old, who made 21 Russian league appearances for Saturn last season, is reported to have signed a long-term contract with his new club, although the precise details were not given. "I've supported Spartak Moskva since I was a kid," he said. "My favourite player, Ilya Tsymbalar, played for them, and I've dreamed of seeing myself in the red and white colours of Spartak. My dream has come true now and I'm obviously really happy."

Makhmudov will join up with Artur Valikaev, Spartak's other new signing. The 23-year-old midfielder, absent for much of last season with a metatarsal fracture, arrived from FC Rostov earlier this month. Meanwhile, full-back Andrei Ivanov has signed for FC Lokomotiv Moskva and midfielder Pavel Golyshev has followed team-mates Renat Sabitov and Sergei Pesyakov to FC Tom Tomsk, with Russian U-21 international forward Artem Dzyba moving in the opposite direction at the end of a loan spell. Lastly, Spartak have released former Russian international Ivan Saenko.

The capital club will face FC Basel 1893 in the UEFA Europa League round of 32 on 17 and 24 February.
