UEFA Europa League contenders BSC Young Boys have signed Swedish international Alexander Farnerud on a three-and-a-half year contract.
Farnerud, 26, arrives at the Swiss Super League outfit for an undisclosed fee from Brøndby IF, who he joined in summer 2008. Capped eight times by his country, the attacking midfielder's other former clubs include RC Strasbourg and VfB Stuttgart, where he won the 2006/07 Bundesliga title. "Farnerud is able to deliver a decisive pass and is versatile in attack," said Young Boys chief executive Ilja Kaenzig.
Farnerud found the net 18 times in 73 league games for Brøndby. "I hope to help the team succeed by scoring many goals. I have seen several Young Boys matches and am convinced there is quality in the side."
