Japan striker Okazaki signs for Stuttgart

UEFA Europa League contenders VfB Stuttgart have strengthened their attack with the signing of Japan striker Shinji Okazaki, who has committed to the Bundesliga club until 2014.

Japan striker Shinji Okazaki has signed a three-and-a-half year contract with UEFA Europa League contenders VfB Stuttgart.

Okazaki, 24, joins Bruno Labbadia's side just a day after his country's AFC Asian Cup final triumph over Australia. The striker makes the move from J-League outfit Shimizu S-Pulse, having passed a medical on Sunday. Stuttgart topped UEFA Europa League Group H and will face SL Benfica in the round of 32 on 17 and 24 February.
