Centre-back Nicolas Lombaerts will miss the second leg of FC Zenit St Petersburg's UEFA Europa League round of 32 tie against BSC Young Boys because of a knee injury.

The Belgian international defender opened the scoring in Zenit's 2-1 first-leg defeat in Berne last Thursday but was substituted after 54 minutes with meniscus damage which subsequently required surgery. "It is not as bad as it could be," said the 25-year-old. "I hope to be back in four weeks."

If Zenit come through Thursday's second meeting with Young Boys in Russia, Lombaerts could also sit out both legs of the round of 16, on 10 and 17 March.
