Serie A side US Città di Palermo have reached an agreement with Hapoel Tel-Aviv FC to sign Israel midfielder Eran Zahavi for an undisclosed fee.

The midfielder, who will turn 24 next month, has penned a five-year contract with the Rosanero. His new club will start their UEFA Europa League campaign from the third qualifying round after losing 3-1 to FC Internazionale Milano in last season's Coppa Italia final.

Zahavi won the 2010 Israeli Premier League with Hapoel as well as two domestic cups. He made his senior international debut in Israel's 3-1 win against Malta in UEFA EURO 2012 qualifying Group F in September 2010.

Midfielder Gil Vermouth has also left Hapoel, Zahavi's compatriot signing a four-year deal with Bundesliga side 1. FC Kaiserslautern.
