UEFA Europa League play-off hopefuls Hannover 96 have taken on promising Poland forward Artur Sobiech and Norway midfielder Henning Hauger, both for undisclosed transfer fees.
KSP Polonia Warszawa striker Sobiech has agreed a deal to play for Hannover until June 2014. "In Artur Sobiech we have an attacker whose physical strength gives us extra options," said coach Mirko Slomka. "He is a player with a bright future." Originally with Ruch Chorzów, the 21-year-old scored nine goals in 23 Ekstraklasa games for Polonia last term. He has also been capped at both Under-21 and senior levels.
The Lower-Saxony side have also signed Hauger from Stabæk Fotball. The 25-year-old, who has represented Norway 21 times, has penned a contract until summer 2015. "I am delighted the transfer has worked out," added Slomka. "We have been looking for a player with international experience in that central position in front of the defence." Hannover finished fourth in the Bundesliga last season.
