Croatian international forward Nikola Kalinić has joined FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk from Blackburn Rovers FC for a reported €6m fee.
Kalinić, 23, has signed a four-year deal with the Ukrainian Premier League club and could make his Dnipro debut in Saturday's home game against reigning champions FC Shakhtar Donetsk. The former HNK Hajduk Split striker scored six goals in 44 league appearances during his two-season stay at Ewood Park.
"The negotiations were tough, exhausting even," said Dnipro director Andriy Stetsenko. "Blackburn were eager to keep him, but we persuaded the player it was better for him to continue his career at Dnipro." Dnipro take on Fulham FC in the UEFA Europa League play-offs on 18 and 25 August, with the first leg played in England.
