Relief for PSV as Tytoń leaves hospital

PSV Eindhoven goalkeeper Przemysław Tytoń has been allowed to leave hospital following the head injury he sustained during his side's 2-2 draw with AFC Ajax on Sunday.

PSV Eindhoven goalkeeper Przemysław Tytoń has left hospital following the serious head injury he sustained during Sunday's 2-2 draw against AFC Ajax.

The 24-year-old, who has been capped five times by Poland, was knocked unconscious after colliding with team-mate Timothy Derijck in only his third appearance for the club and was subsequently taken to hospital, where he spent the night.

A brain scan has since revealed there to be no more serious damage than concussion and the keeper, who is on loan from Roda JC, has returned home, although it is unclear exactly how long he will remain sidelined for. PSV club doctor Rolf Timmermans said: "Everything is stable. It seems he got off pretty lightly but it is too soon to predict how long he will need to fully recover."

PSV travel to Voetbal Vereniging Sint Bavo for a Dutch Cup second round match on Wednesday and top UEFA Europa League Group C after an opening 1-0 success against Legia Warszawa. Fred Rutten's side are away to FC Rapid Bucureşti in their next group match on 29 September.
