Brazilian forward Willian Gomes has completed his move from SC Corinthians Paulista to FC Metalist Kharkiv after signing a five-year deal.

The 25-year-old was a member of Corinthians' 2012 Copa Libertadores-winning squad and is looking forward to filling the void left by Ukrainian international forward Marko Dević's departure to FC Shakhtar Donetsk.

"I know that football has developed in Ukraine recently and Metalist are making progress too and play regularly in the UEFA Europa League," said Willian. "I hope I can help my new team to win trophies and I hope we become champions. I want to become a part of the Metalist family as quickly as possible.

"It is very good that there are so many South American players here. I played against Marlos and I have seen Taison, Cleiton [Xavier] and Fininho in action. They all spoke well of the club and I believe everything will be great for me here."

Willian and his new team-mates will enter the UEFA Europa League in the play-offs and will learn of their opponents in the draw on 10 August.
