Sweden midfielder Rasmus Elm has joined PFC CSKA Moskva on a three-year contract with the possibility of a fourth season.
CSKA have paid AZ Alkmaar just over €6m for the 24-year-old, beating off competition from a number of clubs in England and Italy. Elm links up with compatriot Pontus Wernbloom at the Russian side, who enter the UEFA Europa League in the play-off round on 23 and 30 August. He made a total of 83 Dutch Eredivisie appearances for AZ after leaving Kalmar FF in 2009.
