UEFA Europa League hopefuls Tottenham Hotspur FC have completed the signing of Emmanuel Adebayor from Manchester City FC on a permanent deal.
The Togo striker spent last season on loan at White Hart Lane, ending as the club's top scorer with 18 goals in 37 appearances. That helped them to fourth place in the Premier League, though they were denied a UEFA Champions League slot after Chelsea FC lifted the trophy in May.
A reported €7m has made the move permanent and Adebayor, 28, will give new manager André Villas-Boas options in attack as Jermain Defoe is the only other senior forward in the squad.
"I am pleased to be signing for Spurs on a permanent basis," said the former AS Monaco FC and Arsenal FC man. "It may have taken longer than expected but I am delighted to be back at Tottenham Hotspur. I really enjoyed my time here last season and I am hoping we can achieve great things together again."
