FC Anji Makhachkala have secured the services of Real Madrid CF midfielder Lassana Diarra as well as attacker Nikita Burmistrov from FC Amkar Perm.
The pair passed medicals today to finalise their moves to Guus Hiddink's emerging team. French international Diarra, 27, was expected to arrive on loan from Madrid but has signed permanent terms instead, thought to be for four years. The 23-year-old Burmistrov, who has caught the eye in Russia's Premier League with three goals in seven outings for Amkar this term, joins in an undisclosed deal.
"Signing these high-quality players is in line with our club's strategy of achieving success," said Anji general manager Aivaz Kaziakhmedov. "We believe Lassana and Nikita will help us in fighting for the highest goals."
Among those targets is the UEFA Europa League, where Anji face a tough test against BSC Young Boys, Liverpool FC and Udinese Calcio in Group A.
