Mladenov takes charge at Litex

Bulgarian Cup winners PFC Litex Lovech have appointed Stoicho Mladenov as their new coach.

Two-year deal
The 47-year-old former national team coach takes over from Serbian Lupko Petrovic and has signed a two-year contract. "Mladenov is just the person we need; he has authority, international experience and can bring success to the club," Litex president Angel Bonchev said.

Petrovic spell
Petrovic, who won the European Champion Clubs' Cup with FK Crvena Zvezda in 1991, joined Litex in the winter break but despite guiding the club to cup success, decided not to prolong his contract.

CSKA career
As a player, Mladenov won three Bulgarian league titles and three cups with PFC CSKA Sofia. He also won the title as coach of CSKA in 2002/03, but resigned his post last October after the club were knocked out of the UEFA Cup.
