FC Anji Makhachkala have completed the signing of Russian international defender Andrei Eschenko from FC Lokomotiv Moskva.
No details of the transfer have been revealed, but Eschenko has reportedly signed a long-term contract with Guus Hiddink's UEFA Europa League round of 32 contenders. Eschenko, 28, joined Lokomotiv from FC Volga Nizhny Novgorod in January last year and scored one goal in 24 Russian Premier League appearances.
"I'm truly happy to join a club like Anji and I never had any doubts about this move," said Eschenko, who has four Russia caps to his name. "I'm sure working with Guus Hiddink and great players like Samuel Eto'o and Roberto Carlos will be a great experience for me. I also want to thank the Lokomotiv administration, players and fans for the support I always felt."
Anji finished second in UEFA Europa League Group A and will face Hannover 96 in the last 32, with the first leg in Russia on 14 February and the return a week later.
