FC Girondins de Bordeaux have moved to fill the void created by Yoan Gouffran's departure by signing Uruguay Under-20 striker Diego Rolán from Defensor Sporting Club.

The Ligue 1 outfit have not disclosed the fee, nor length of contract agreed for the forward, who will link up with his new team once the 2013 South American Youth Championship in Argentina, in which he is representing Uruguay, concludes on 3 February. Gouffran joined Newcastle United FC last week.

Rolán, 19, scored ten goals in 37 Uruguayan league games for Defensor. Bordeaux, fifth in the French top flight, play FC Dynamo Kyiv in the UEFA Europa League round of 32 on 14 and 21 February.
