UEFA Europa League contenders S.S. Lazio have announced the signing of right-back Bruno Pereirinha on a free transfer from Sporting Clube de Portugal.
The 24-year-old Pereirinha, who can also play in midfield, has reportedly accepted a contract until summer 2016 with the Rome club after his deal with the 18-time Portuguese champions, which was due to expire in June, was cancelled.
Limited by a knee injury to only three Liga appearances this term, former Portuguese Under-21 international Pereirinha faced Lazio in the 2011/12 UEFA Europa League group stage, when the Italian side won 2-0 at the Stadio Olimpico.
Lazio take on VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach in the round of 32 of this season's competition, travelling to Germany on 14 February before the return leg the following Thursday.
