Queens Park Rangers FC centre-back Christopher Samba has moved back to FC Anji Makhachkala only five months after departing the Russian club for west London.

Anji signed Samba from Blackburn Rovers FC in a reported €14.1m deal in February 2012 but he returned to England with QPR for an alleged €15m in January, only to suffer relegation at the end of last season. His latest deal will keep him in Guus Hiddink's ranks until the summer of 2017.

In his previous spell in the Russian Premier League, the 29-year-old Congo international scored three times in 27 matches. Anji finished third last season to qualify for the UEFA Europa League group stage and have signalled their intent for the upcoming year by snaring Russian internationals Igor Denisov from FC Zenit St Petersburg and Aleksandr Kokorin from FC Dinamo Moskva earlier this summer.
