Tottenham Hotspur FC have made Toulouse FC midfielder Étienne Capoue their fourth signing of the summer.
Reports in England suggest the Premier League club have paid around €10.5m for the 25-year-old, who has been capped six times by France since making his international debut 12 months ago to the day.
No contract details have been disclosed for a player who will add to Spurs' options following the sale and loan respectively of Tom Huddlestone and Jake Livermore to Hull City AFC.
Capoue's arrival takes the north London outfit's pre-season outlay towards the €70m mark following the acquisition of Roberto Soldado (Valencia CF), Nacer Chadli (FC Twente) and Paulinho (SC Corinthians Paulista).
A graduate of the Toulouse youth system, Capoue, who can also play at centre-back, scored 13 goals in 174 top-flight appearances for Les Pitchouns and was named in the 2011/12 Ligue 1 team of the year alongside now Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.
André Villas-Boas's team begin their domestic campaign on Sunday against promoted Crystal Palace FC and take on FC Dinamo Tbilisi in the UEFA Europa League play-offs, with the first leg in Georgia on 22 August.
