Double joy for Sevilla's Moreno

Shortly after receiving a call to join Vicente del Bosque's Spain squad, Sevilla FC defender Alberto Moreno has signed a new contract at his club that runs until 2018.

Sevilla FC have rewarded full-back Alberto Moreno with a four-year contract extension on the day the 21-year-old received his first senior international call-up by Spain.

Part of the side that won this summer's UEFA European Under-21 Championship in Israel, the left-sided defender has since been receiving plaudits at club level, earning him a new Sevilla deal that runs until June 2018 and contains a €30m buy-out clause. The news capped a memorable day for the Andalusians' youth-team product, who had earlier been selected by Vicente del Bosque's world and European champions for next week's 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Belarus and Georgia.

Unai Emery's Sevilla have enjoyed a perfect start to their UEFA Europa League Group H campaign, posting victories against Estoril Praia and SC Freiburg.
