A UEFA Cup winner with FC Porto more than a decade ago, Ricardo Costa is itching to repeat the trick with Valencia CF this time around.

The Liga outfit lifted their sole UEFA Cup in 2004, the season after Costa hoisted aloft the same piece of silverware under José Mourinho. Now with Miroslav Djukić at the helm, Valencia are once again one of the biggest draws in this season's competition. Los Che opened their Group A account with a 3-0 home defeat by Swansea City AFC but bounced back on matchday two edging FC Kuban Krasnodar 2-0. Next up is a double-header against Swiss side FC St Gallen.

"We have a lot of hopes for this competition, we want to go a long way and win the Europa League," said Costa, 32. "Two seasons ago we were knocked out by Atlético Madrid in the semi-finals, so this is another chance to win a title for Valencia. For this club it's normal to play in big competitions like this, and we want to achieve something positive, which would be to win this title. A player becomes more complete when he manages to win titles, when he wins big competitions."
