Swansea City AFC forward Michu looks set to be out for "three to four weeks" because of ongoing pain in his knees and an ankle problem.
The Spanish international came off midway through the second half of Swansea's 1-0 Premier League defeat at south-west Wales rivals Cardiff City AFC on Sunday and was provisionally ruled out for two matches with an ankle injury. However, manager Michael Laudrup, speaking ahead of Thursday's UEFA Europa League Group A trip to FC Kuban Krasnodar, predicted a longer spell on the sidelines.
"Michu has been struggling and now he is out again for maybe three or four weeks," Laudrup said of the 27-year-old. "At times he has not been at his best because he has been struggling with both his knees for a few weeks. Now he has injured his ankle as well. He will go away [to Spain] for a few days and hopefully everything will get better at the same time."
Michu, who scored 18 Premier League goals in his maiden season at Swansea last term, is therefore likely to miss the visit of Valencia CF to Swansea on matchday five, Thursday 28 November. Swansea are top of their section with seven points.
