Real Betis Balompié will be without midfielder Nosa Igiebor for the rest of their UEFA Europa League Group I campaign because the Nigerian international needs surgery to correct a chronic left adductor muscle injury.

The 23-year-old – who has featured in eleven games for Pepe Mel's side in all competitions this term – will undergo an operation this week, with the Verdiblancos hoping to have the former Lillestrøm SK and Hapoel Tel-Aviv FC player fit again in the first two weeks in January. Meanwhile, striker Brian Rodríguez has been sidelined for up to four weeks after the Uruguayan suffered a left ankle sprain in training.

Despite sitting bottom of the Spanish Liga, Betis lead their UEFA Europa League section ahead of a 28 November visit to Olympique Lyonnais and a final group match at home to HNK Rijeka in December.
