Drakulic on way to AEK

Cypriot Cup winners AEK Larnaca FC have moved for experienced Serbia and Montenegro striker Sasa Drakulic.

Cypriot UEFA Cup contenders AEK Larnaca FC have signed experienced Serbia and Montenegro striker Sasa Drakulic in a one-year deal with the option for a further year.

Korean experience
The 32-year-old forward started his career with Japanese outfit Kashiwa Reysol FC in 1992 and has spent the last nine years with Korean Republic side Songnam Ilhwa FC, who he helped to three league titles. He was the league's top scorer in the 1998/99 season, being voted the best foreign player in Korea the same season.

Surprise Cup winners
Drakulic was released by Seongnam in January, allowing AEK -who reached the qualifying rounds of the 2004/5 UEFA Cup thanks to their unexpected success in the Cypriot Cup last season - to sign the free agent.

European adventure
AEK's last European outing was in the 1995/96 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup campaign, when they held FC Barcelona to a goalless draw in the first round in Larnaca but still bowed out of the competition to the Spanish giants on aggregate.
