SSC Napoli goalkeeper Rafael Cabral is likely to miss the remainder of the season after suffering knee ligament damage during the 0-0 UEFA Europa League round of 32 draw at Swansea City AFC on Thursday.
The 23-year-old was replaced by Pepe Reina at half-time after making a series of good saves in the first 45 minutes against the Premier League side, but suffered an injury which scans back in Naples confirmed as a rupture to the anterior cruciate ligaments in the Brazilian's right knee. "The goalkeeper will undergo surgery and will be out of action for a time which will not be short," read a Napoli announcement.
Capped three times by Brazil, Cabral joined Napoli in the summer, turning out eight times in Serie A so far and once in the UEFA Champions League group stage. Third in Italy, the Partenopei will host Swansea in the return on Thursday.
