Sevilla FC will be without attacker Denis Cheryshev for Thursday's UEFA Europa League round of 32 second leg at home to NK Maribor after tests showed the Russian international has a badly sprained ankle.

The 23-year-old – who has endured an injury-plagued campaign while on loan at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán from Real Madrid CF – picked up the knock in the first half of last week's 2-2 opening draw in Slovenia. Sevilla medics have ruled out bone damage but confirmed Cheryshev will be sidelined for three weeks. The winger has made just four Liga appearances this term, plus his Maribor outing.
