Sevilla FC have snapped up Argentinian goalkeeper Mariano Barbosa from Spanish second division side UD Las Palmas for an undisclosed fee.

The 29-year-old arrives at the UEFA Europa League winners on a two-year deal and will provide competition for the club's first-choice keepers Beto and Javi Varas. Barbosa spent the last four campaigns at Las Palmas, for whom he made 156 league appearances, having also played for Villarreal CF and RC Recreativo de Huelva in Spain.

Sevilla will take on Real Madrid CF in next month's UEFA Super Cup before beginning the defence of their UEFA Europa League title.
